LIMINAL brings together a constellation of contemporary voices — painters, sculptors, and mixed-media practitioners exploring threshold states across material and meaning.

Visitors move through three floors of exhibition space, encountering works that suspend definition: figures dissolving into pattern, gilded landscapes drifting between abstraction and representation, sculptural forms holding paradox.

The Foundation’s lower vault gallery holds an intimate presentation of Rodin’s bronze sculptures — including iconic works such as The Kiss — drawn from a private collection rarely seen in public.

Bronze busts, fragments, and figural studies are displayed across the historic vault and adjacent chambers, allowing visitors a contemplative encounter with the work of one of modern sculpture’s most defining figures.

Exhibition Artists

Artists in LIMINAL

Seven artists from across Turkey, Brazil, South Africa, Germany, Croatia, and Panama are presented in the Foundation’s inaugural exhibition LIMINAL — each working in distinct media, united by an exploration of threshold states across material and meaning.

About the Foundation

To advance education in the arts for the public benefit.

Miart Art Foundation Limited is a not-for-profit organisation incorporated on 7 April 2026 (Company Number 17138956), established exclusively for charitable purposes. The Foundation opened to the public on 14 April 2026 with its inaugural group exhibition LIMINAL, presenting the work of seven international artists. Located in the heart of St James’s, the Foundation occupies the ground floor and lower ground floor of 31–32 St James’s Street, with admission free to all.

We are committed to advancing public access to and engagement with contemporary and historical art — through curated exhibitions, structured educational programmes, and learning opportunities for emerging artists. Our work is rooted in the belief that art belongs to everyone, regardless of background or means.

İrem Deniz, Founder of Miart Art Foundation

Founder’s Message

A vision for access & opportunity

Art has the power to transform lives — but access to it is not always equal.

The founding vision of Miart Art Foundation emerged from a simple yet urgent reality: there are countless individuals with talent, curiosity, and passion for art who have never been given the opportunity to engage with it. Whether due to financial limitations, lack of educational access, or absence of accessible opportunities, their potential often remains unseen.

This foundation was created to change that.

At the heart of Miart Art Foundation lies a deep commitment to accessibility, education, and opportunity. Our mission is to bring art closer to people who have been historically excluded from it, and to create pathways for those who wish to build a future within the art world.

Education is central to this vision.

We offer structured training programmes designed for young individuals — both those who have received formal art education and those who have not, but possess the determination and passion to pursue a career in the arts. Through hands-on, on-site learning, we aim to bridge the gap between aspiration and professional reality.

This approach is not theoretical. It is rooted in lived experience. I previously initiated similar training models within prior professional experience in the art sector, where I witnessed first-hand the transformative impact of access and mentorship. However, it became clear that a broader, more inclusive framework was necessary to fully realise this vision.

Miart Art Foundation is that framework.

Beyond education, the foundation is also dedicated to supporting emerging artists — particularly those who lack the means or access to artistic learning. By creating opportunities for public exhibition, engagement, and learning, we aim to empower a new generation of artists to find their voice and audience.

Looking ahead, our vision extends to the creation of artist studios, accessible creative spaces, and free workshops for individuals who are passionate about art but lack the financial resources to engage with it.

We believe that art should not be a privilege — it should be a shared human experience.

Through collaborations with internationally renowned and emerging artists, Miart Art Foundation seeks to build a dynamic and inclusive cultural ecosystem — one that connects, educates, and inspires.

This is more than a foundation. It is a commitment to equality, to creativity, and to the future of art.
